"The overall race organization is excellent too.  The race organizers really went out of their way to make sure that they had everyone's transportation needs covered.  Most of the point-to-point races that I've done in the past have required runners to either park near the start line and take a shuttle bus back after finishing the race, or park near the finish line at the beginning and take a shuttle to the start.  It's usually one or the other, but rarely both. The Outer Banks Marathon has shuttles that go back and forth between the start and finish lines all morning, so you can pretty much park anywhere that’s convenient for you and hop on the next available shuttle to get to wherever you need to go from there.  There are also special shuttle buses for spectators who want to watch their friends and family at the start line and then head over to the finish line to meet them at the end of the race.  The process of getting to where you need to go on race day is more straightforward than almost any others I’ve ever seen." ~ Excerpt from Tod Leddy's book "Southern Fried Running".
